La Roche-posay Anthelios XL Fluid SPF 50+ review
As I started
noticing the first signs of aging I knew what was possibly causing it and I
also knew what I had to do next. I have been intentionally skipping this step
in my everyday skincare regime as I dislike the thought of greasy skin. Yes, I
am talking about the usage of sunscreen on a daily basis because I have had it
reserved only for my beach holidays. But now there was no escape and I had to
hunt down a product with a high SPF that worked for my combination skin that
was light weight that would give me protection from both UVA and UVB rays and
above all it would not leave a white cast on my skin. So, did I find my Holy
Grail product? Lets see….
Product name: La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Fluid 50+ SPF
Quantity: 50 ml
Price: RS 1400
La Roche-Posay says:
This product provides high broad spectrum sun protection
against the harmful effects of both UVA and UVB rays. Contains La Roche-Posay
Thermal Spring Water.
My experience:
Everyone needs to wear a sunscreen, even if you are indoors
and I only realised this when I started seeing age spots and dark spots around
my eyes.
After much deliberation I figured I needed La Roche posay
Anthelios spf 50 in my life as reading reviews on the web helped me make a decision.
I have used some products from their brand and I really liked them so it was
easy to bestow my trust in them this time around. I use this every morning
after my cleansing, toning and moisturising routine and then apply this all over
my face and neck as a last step followed by makeup to finish off.
This product comes in a very sleek superior quality plastic
bottle with a tiny nozzle to dispense the required amount and it is easy to carry around for reapplication as it conveniently fits in my makeup bag. The stuff is
runny in texture and be sure to shake the bottle thoroughly before every use. This
sunscreen is very light weight, gets absorbed into the skin immediately and
leaves no white cast or greasiness on my skin. In fact, I feel my skin looks
smoother, plump and evened out after its application. I have noticed that this
works as an excellent base for makeup almost like a primer and on a no makeup
day too I have observed that even on its own it does not make my face shiny
indoors but outdoors it sure does get slightly oily so you will need to carry a
compact/ pressed powder to blot the excess shine. I have not experienced any
sunburn or suntan when I use it. It just works beautifully and the amazing
part is it did not break me out.
Final thoughts:
This is an Ultra-light fluid with a very high SPF of 50+,
its paraben free, fragrance free and works for all skin types including
sensitive skin and sun intolerant skin. It is water resistant but don’t forget
to reapply if you perspire. It gives protection from UVA and UVB rays and it’s
great for my combination skin. It sits well under makeup but you will need to
powder as it tends to get a little oily as the day progresses. I would totally recommend
this product to everyone.
Thanks for reading.
