Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Miraculous beauty fluid - Review

Hey everyone,

These days I am obsessed with skincare like never before, the reason being I believe that prevention is better than cure. You can delay the signs of aging by using the right products but not erase the ones that have already formed in my opinion (I am not talking Botox and cosmetic surgeries here). I have a combination skin that is slightly troubled with hormonal breakouts, some redness, a few visible pores, some acne scars from before, some fine lines around my eye area, a few dry patches here and there and ofcourse the dull skin. Holy cow! That’s a hell lot of problems than I imagined. Well nothing that makeup can’t hide but I may not always have the time to wear makeup but also I would like to keep it real sometimes and for that I need to help my skin look its best with some conscious efforts. So, today I am reviewing a product that claims to combat a few of my skin problems please read on to see what I think it did.

Product name: Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi face oil

Quantity: 12 ml

Price: RS 1350

Kama Ayurveda says:

A unique 100% Ayurvedic anti-ageing serum that hydrates cleans and illuminates the skin. Miraculous Beauty Fluid is a unique blend of oils and herbs formulated to help skin look young and healthy. In Ayurveda rare, pure saffron is known to help illuminate skin color; extracts of Indian madder and the Banyan tree help smooth fine lines; Vetiver, sandalwood and lotus cool and cleanse while helping to clear blemishes; and liqorice acts as an antiseptic, protects the skin from bacterial and fungal infections.

My experience:

I had picked up this product last year and since then I have used it on and off and there is a reason to that which you will read. This facial oil now known as night serum comes in a 12ml size in a dark glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the liquid. The oil is orange/yellow in colour which strongly smells of essential oils and herbs and I don’t mind that at all because we are talking Ayurveda here and thank god it’s not perfume-y and is all natural.

After cleansing my face I spray the Avene Thermal spring water on my face and take 2 to 3 drops of this oil and pat apply all over including the neck area. I do not massage this into the skin as doing so breaks me out and that is irrespective of any facial oil I may use. I continue to pat it on the skin till it gets slightly absorbed as it takes time to sink in. Its best you apply it an hour before you retire to bed as it can leave stains on your linen.

I have noticed that I woke up to a brighter, radiant and softer skin the next morning. The thing with any skincare product is using it on a daily basis defeats the purpose so, I chose to apply this with a gap of every 3 to 4 days or a night before any special day. This oil though is on slightly heavier side compared to other dry oils on the market but does a great job without breaking me out.

This oil will suit anyone including oily skin however, I would suggest them to use just 1 or 2 drops of it during the winters for better results.

Final thoughts:

I am not sure about its anti-aging properties because I don’t use it on a daily basis but if your skin feels soft and hydrated I am sure it will delay the formation of fine lines. It has helped my skin stay nourished during the winters thus taking care of dry patches and imparting the much needed radiance and glow.  It’s quite pricey as you get just 12ml for RS 1890 and most of the other oils in the market come in a 30ml bottle for almost the same price. So, you can pick your choices. Nevertheless, it is a lovely product to have.

Benefit It's Potent eye cream review

Hello everyone,

They say your eyes are your windows to the world so what about the fine lines around them? Are those the signs of aging? Well, unfortunately yes. Your first signs of aging appear around the delicate area of your eyes which is 5 to 10 times thinner than the rest of your skin so you now know how fragile your under eye area can be and that we really have to treat it and care for it well. I have realized this too late and I would do whatever it takes to restore it. In this post I will be reviewing an under eye cream that is supposed to brighten the under eye area, reduce the appearance of dark circles and delay the signs of aging.

Product name: Benefit It’s Potent eye cream

Quantity: 14.2 g 0.5 oz.

Price: RS 2450

Benefit says:

It's potent! Eye cream fades dark circles & helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes. Contains a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity & firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts including apple extract, known to help boost collagen, & loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage.

My experience:

I have used this product till I exhausted it and that speaks a lot about it. Well, there could be 2 things either I loved it to bits or I could not see any benefit but in hope that I would, I continued using till I reached the bottom of the jar. Well, in my case it’s the latter. Honestly speaking, I really wanted to like this product and do like it to an extent that I used up the entire tub. The appearance of fine lines or crow’s feet is now evident with age and stress and I can see that already but this eye cream did not help in improving the current condition.

This product comes in a cute adorable glass jar packaging with a screw cap. As much as the tub packaging is likable the contamination of the product is inevitable. Plus all the potent ingredients get destroyed once the product is exposed to air. This thick looking cream just melts around the under eye area hydrating it immediately and adds some life around dull eyes. It sits well under my foundation and concealer without creasing. The under eye area remains soft and supple for a long time. However, does it help in reducing the lines around my eyes? Certainly not.

Overall thoughts:

I like this product but I don’t love it. This product is best suited for someone whose concern is limited to dull and dry under eye area. The brands claims to fade dark circles and restore the elasticity of the skin fall short. I won’t be repurchasing it as I feel my daily moisturiser does that for me and I would rather look up for something more effective for this price.

Clinique all about shadow soft matte - review Ax Chocolate covered cherry

Hello everyone,

Skincare has been on my radar lately but I love my makeup equally. I am someone who enjoys wearing smoky eyes but nothing too intense and I am always looking for eyeshadows that are more wearable both for day time and evenings. One such eyeshadow is what I will be reviewing today.

Product name: Clinique all about shadow soft matte single eyeshadow

Quantity: 2.2 g / .07 OZ

Price: RS 1200  / $16

Clinique says:

Creamy colour glides in one smooth stroke. Longwearing. Crease and fade resistant, too. Ophthalmologist tested for even the most sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

My experience:

It’s a single eyeshadow with a soft matte texture to it with no shimmer at all. It comes in a beautiful compact packaging with a built in mirror and an applicator that is good enough for touch ups. These single eyeshadows come in 26 different colours as shown on Clinique’s website. The colour I picked up is called AX Chocolate covered cherry which is a beautiful brownish dark plum shade appropriate for fall/winter. As I said I love doing a smoky eye and this shade fits the bill perfectly. I apply this using a flat eyeshadow brush patting it across the entire eye lid. I am a no fuss person when it comes to eye-makeup so I mostly use my eyeshadows as an all over lid colour and finish my look with a black kohl on my waterline and this just works perfectly for me.

In the swatches below I have applied this with and without a primer and have heavily swatched it so it kinda looks darker than it actually is but on the eyes it just looks more subtle and I will add a picture of me sporting this shade soon. During the day I apply this shade without the use of primer and carry this in my makeup bag for touch ups (I don't mind doing makeup re- touches at all ) which is needed every 2 hours if you have oily lids and for evenings when I need more depth, I wear it with the primer and it lasts on me for a good 6 to 7 hours. There is a slight fall out so I suggest doing your base makeup towards the end or use a tissue to cover the under eye area when applying this, whatever works best for you.

Final thoughts:

There are some brilliant shades in this range and I am keen to discover a few more. I love how this can be worn both soft and also can be intensified using a primer. MAC eyeshadows retail at RS 1450 for 1.2 grams that don’t come with a built in mirror or an applicator considering that I think this is worth the price you pay for.

P.S. I love Clinique

Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive hair treatment hair oil review

Hey everyone,

I have always, always researched the web to either find products or home remedies for ways to control hair fall, promote hair growth and stop premature greying but nothing really worked or helped. One day at the mall I spotted a newly opened store of Kama Ayurveda and I just walked in to see what they had to offer. I had told myself that this would be the last chance at hair experiments and my last resort would be seeing a dermatologist for my hair problems. I was given this oil at once, when I told them my hair concerns and I bought the smaller version of this hair oil because at the back of my head I knew this was not going to help either. So, did it work? Please read on…

Product name: Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive hair treatment oil

Quantity: comes in 2 variants 100 for RS 450 and 250 ml for RS 995 respectively

Kama Ayurveda says:

This product is meant to prevent hair loss, dandruff and premature greying. It is also a natural conditioner for lush hair growth. In addition, it cools the head. Intensive Hair Treatment, the secret of Indians' lush, glossy hair, is a blend of herbs processed in pure sesame oil and milk. The herbal formula includes indigo (neeli), Eclipta Alba and gooseberry to promote hair growth; liquorices which acts as an anti-fungal agent; and balloon vine which prevents scalp infection.

My experience with it:

I bought this oil a while ago and now I am ready to review it. I apply this oil twice a week for 3 hours before my hair wash covering my entire scalp including the roots and ends and gently massaging to help the oil penetrate well. This oil has a strong smell of essential oils which is present in all of their products and I don’t mind it all. The oil is slightly thicker but not sticky and I need 2 rounds of shampooing with Luke warm water to remove every trace of it. I have noticed that if I don’t condition after washing my hair, my hair appears rough and frizzy. So, conditioning is mandatory irrespective of me using this oil or not.

After its very first use I started noticing my hair showed signs of improvement it had a nice shine and it looked tamed. I was pleased and I religiously commenced using it to see exceptional improvements that included controlled hair fall, my hair grew faster and it delayed the greying of hair which had recently begun. By the way this is one of the bestselling product from Kama Ayurveda and I sure know why.

Final thoughts:

This product stands true to its claims and I have experienced them myself. I am very lazy when it comes to applying hair oil but this product excites me because I get results out of this. Men and women if you are looking for a versatile product to deal with all your hair problems that includes hair loss, dandruff, premature greying, promoting hair growth your wait ends here. It’s a remarkable product and I satisfyingly recommend it.

Kama ship’s outside India to and this information is available on their website. Indian customers, Kama has started cash on delivery with a free shipping on orders above RS 1499. So, please check their website here if you are interested. No, I am not being paid to write this review this product is my own purchase in fact a repurchase. J

La Roche-posay Anthelios XL Fluid SPF 50+ review

As I started noticing the first signs of aging I knew what was possibly causing it and I also knew what I had to do next. I have been intentionally skipping this step in my everyday skincare regime as I dislike the thought of greasy skin. Yes, I am talking about the usage of sunscreen on a daily basis because I have had it reserved only for my beach holidays. But now there was no escape and I had to hunt down a product with a high SPF that worked for my combination skin that was light weight that would give me protection from both UVA and UVB rays and above all it would not leave a white cast on my skin. So, did I find my Holy Grail product? Lets see….

Product name: La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Fluid 50+ SPF

Quantity: 50 ml

Price: RS 1400

La Roche-Posay says:

This product provides high broad spectrum sun protection against the harmful effects of both UVA and UVB rays. Contains La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water.

My experience:

Everyone needs to wear a sunscreen, even if you are indoors and I only realised this when I started seeing age spots and dark spots around my eyes.

After much deliberation I figured I needed La Roche posay Anthelios spf 50 in my life as reading reviews on the web helped me make a decision. I have used some products from their brand and I really liked them so it was easy to bestow my trust in them this time around. I use this every morning after my cleansing, toning and moisturising routine and then apply this all over my face and neck as a last step followed by makeup to finish off.

This product comes in a very sleek superior quality plastic bottle with a tiny nozzle to dispense the required amount and it is easy to carry around for reapplication as it conveniently fits in my makeup bag. The stuff is runny in texture and be sure to shake the bottle thoroughly before every use. This sunscreen is very light weight, gets absorbed into the skin immediately and leaves no white cast or greasiness on my skin. In fact, I feel my skin looks smoother, plump and evened out after its application. I have noticed that this works as an excellent base for makeup almost like a primer and on a no makeup day too I have observed that even on its own it does not make my face shiny indoors but outdoors it sure does get slightly oily so you will need to carry a compact/ pressed powder to blot the excess shine. I have not experienced any sunburn or suntan when I use it. It just works beautifully and the amazing part is it did not break me out.

Final thoughts:

This is an Ultra-light fluid with a very high SPF of 50+, its paraben free, fragrance free and works for all skin types including sensitive skin and sun intolerant skin. It is water resistant but don’t forget to reapply if you perspire. It gives protection from UVA and UVB rays and it’s great for my combination skin. It sits well under makeup but you will need to powder as it tends to get a little oily as the day progresses. I would totally recommend this product to everyone.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate oil Review

Hey everyone,

I am back with another skincare product review, this is first of its kind on my blog as I have never used a product like this in my skincare routine ever before. I was introduced to this product when my buddies Krithi and Fiona raved about it on their blog.

So, I am talking about a cult favourite product from the organic brand Pai Skincare. Being a combination skin type usage of oil or heavy creams is always unlikely for me and knowing that I still decided to take the plunge. Do I fancy it? Read on….

Product name: Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate oil

Quantity: 30ml / 1 fl oz

Price: Rs 1900 / $37

About Pai skincare: (As per their website)

Pai BioRegenerate™ Rosehip Oil is rich in concentrated Trans-Retinoic Acid, an essential fuel for the skin's natural repair function.Rosehip is the ultimate skin multi-tasker. With regular use, it conditions the skin, improving skin firmness and elasticity.

High levels of Trans-Retinoic Acid are delivered directly to the epidermis, which converts to Vitamin A to boost the skin's natural healing process.

Clinical studies show Rosehip is effective at improving the appearance of scars, stretch marks, sun damage and fine lines.

My experience with the product:

This oil comes in a frosted glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the required amount and I think it works just fine without any hassle. I have been using this product since three months now. At first, I was using this oil every single day before retiring to bed and I was wowed by the results at how radiant my skin looked the next morning. However, I noticed that after a period of 10 days or so my skin stopped reacting to this product and I was hugely disappointed. And then one day I happened to read the instructions on the box and it stated that for best results use it 2-3 times a week and that was it. I rediscovered this precious and it has and will always be part of my skincare.

How I use it:

After cleansing my skin at night I spray the Avene Eau thermal spring water all over my face and while my skin is still damp I take 2-3 drops of the Pai Rosehip oil and apply it all over my face and neck with light pressing motions. I do not massage this oil on my skin as doing so breaks me out. I use it 30 minutes before going to bed and it does not leave any stains on the bed linen.

When you first apply it, your face will look oily as the oil takes a moment to absorb but within a few minutes you will notice that there is no stickiness or oil residue left as your skin soaks it all leaving you with brighter and softer skin that is like butter to touch but in a nice way. If you have extremely dry skin you may like to follow it with a night cream or a serum but I just stop here.

I have noticed that after incorporating this dry oil in my skincare has helped me balance the oil production of my skin, my skin is less oily and my break outs are under control, I am yet to see the lightening of the previous scars I think prolonged usage will take care of that too, it controls the redness on the skin, heals any dry patches around the skin. Does not work as an anti-aging product as claimed but slightly softens the lines upon application. It is a brilliant product that I will forever repurchase.

Final thoughts:

It is not available in India so I would be ordering more than one for backup the next time. You are required to use up the product within 6 months from the time you open the bottle. This 30ml bottle will easily last you 6 months. This Rosehip oil is made for all skin types including sensitive and mature. This oil is packed with simplest and purest ingredients with high-performance actives to restore your skins natural radiance. This skincare line is organic and safe. This little gem is a multitasker and can be used for various skin concerns. If you can get your hands on it don’t think twice.

Do you use any facial oils? Do you have a favourite? Please feel free to share about a product that you love the most. I would love to try it.

Drops of youth Bouncy sleeping mask by The Body Shop

Hello everyone,

I am back with yet another skincare product review from the house of The Body Shop. After seeing every other beauty blogger putting up pictures on Instagram holding this green coloured jar and describing it in hashtags such as bouncebackbeautiful, rejuvenated, beautysleep and a few more that I can’t bring back from memory I was intrigued and I had to secure one for myself before I could hear the horror word “sold out”! Read on to know if this is a go get it or just leave it kind of a product.

Product: The Body Shop drops of youth bouncy sleeping mask

Price: Rs 2295

Quantity: 90ml / 90 grams

TBS says: Discover our new Drops of Youth Bouncy sleeping mask, enriched with Edelweiss stem cells. Designed to be left on overnight, it leaves skin looking and feeling replenished.

-          Youth-enhancing formula for bouncier looking skin

-          Unique bouncy, memory shape texture

-          With Edelweiss stem cells

How to use: Smooth on to face before bed and allow to sink in overnight. Do not wash off.

My experience: This stuff comes in a super heavy glass jar which clearly means travelling with it is not advisable. This product comes in a gel like foamy texture that is slightly bouncy . Every time I shake the jar or topple it, upon opening the tub the product sits pretty and looks as though you are using it for the very first time.  The texture is not creamy but when you apply it on your skin it is very slippery and siliconish and that is something I dislike in a face product. This product has a plant like smell to it which lingers on for quite a while. very little product is needed to cover the entire face and it spreads easily on to the skin. I use the spatula to scoop out the product that comes along with this and is of big help in my opinion.

After I smooth the product on my face my skin feels uncomfortable from the very next moment and I just wait and wait for it to get absorbed but it just refuses to do so. The first time I used it and left it on as an overnight mask I could not sleep because it kept sticking to my pillow, hair, face and everything else.

After a few days passed I gathered some courage and tried to use this again but this time as a hydration mask by leaving it on for 15 minutes and then giving my skin a good massage with it and using a hot towel to wipe away the excess product and noticed that this left my skin soft and supple so I figured this was the best way I could be using this mask.
I can not comment on the anti-aging benefits of the product because I have not used it as directed.

Final thoughts:

This product is tacky to apply and may even feel uncomfortable on the skin if you leave it on as an overnight mask but I have found another way around to still get some benefits of smoothening/ soothing the dry patches of my skin. However, I may not repurchase this product because I am not a fan of leave on masks instead I think facial oils are my thing.
If you can get yourself a sample before purchasing the full size product you could tell for yourself. you may either like it or hate it and for me I am in-between.

Better safe than sorry - Stuff you must know about your cosmetics

Hello everyone,

Buying new makeup is always on my things to do list and I have a taste for expensive makeup and if you are living is India, you don’t have access to the best of makeup that is available in the makeup world. So, for beauty enthusiasts like myself have to either settle for brands that are available at stores near to us, or wait for a foreign trip to fill up bags with beauty and skincare products or have my friends and family entertain my shopping list. But what happens when your favourite product runs out before you could arrange its backup... and that’s what happened with me and I had to go looking for a new product altogether and here’s what happened…

This post is not a product review but a bitter lesson I learnt myself in the process of buying makeup and I believe everyone one of us needs to be aware of the fact that in the charm of buying expensive cosmetics we could be tricked. Read on to know how….

Below is the picture of a foundation I had purchased last month at a famous retail store that is the only destination for fragrances, skincare and cosmetics in India selling high-end international brands.

After my favourite foundation got over I was inclined to buy a new foundation Lingerie De Peau from Guerlain Paris. So, I visited this store and tried out a shade that matched my skin tone and finalized # 31 Ambre pale. I was super excited that I was going to own a luxurious foundation that looked and felt so amazing and what’s great was they had my shade in stock and so I rushed to the billing counter to make the payment and just then I noticed the expiration date on the bottle and it had only 2 months left for its expiry. Oh my Ghosh! I wasn’t going to finish this foundation in the next 2 months for sure so I asked the lady if they could arrange me a bottle from their fresh stock. She said most definitely as they had 2 bottles of it in their warehouse and they belonged to the new stock they had received. I was overjoyed and told her I would come and collect the bottle the coming weekend and requested her to call me and confirm that the product in the warehouse had a distant expiry date and she said she would.

Next day comes and I don’t get a call from her so, the restless me calls the store inquiring about it and they say to me that the girl you spoke to is on leave however, your requested foundation is in stock with an expiry date of 2018. I was relieved to hear that and then came weekend and I brought this beauty home. While I was making the payment and admiring the bottle and its box packaging I was not very happy because it looked rather old and worn out but when I checked for the label it had an expiration date that read 2018 and that’s all I was concerned about.

So, when I came home first thing I did was to open the bottle and test the foundation on my hand and it oozed out like water and that worried me a bit and the fragrant was dull and didn’t smell anything like what the tester foundation I tried at the store did and that raised concern. It rang a bell in my head and I quickly grabbed my phone to check its actual manufacturing and expiration using its batch number.

You will not believe what I saw… It came like a shock to me that I have been tricked by the store. This stuff expired in 2013 and they sold me a foundation that was manufactured in the year 2010.

Next day, I rushed to the store to return the product and told them that I have been cheated and I needed my money back and they asked me for time. As I was travelling there was no way I could give them any time and I insisted that I needed a refund right away and then they unhappily agreed to it. I also told them to sit and check all of their stuff in the store and they might be surprised to know half of it might have already expired. I learnt my lesson and I hope you all are careful too.

The reason I am writing this post is so that each one can be aware that there is a way you can check the products authenticity, expiry and the time left before you should use up the product yourself. Do not rely on the labels or stickers put up by the stores just pick the batch number which is listed near the bar code and check for yourself. I did this after my purchase but I am going to do this before my purchase from now on because this stuff is not cheap and I cannot take a chance with my skin.

In future, for your reference please visit and to make sure you are buying genuine products with their true manufacturing and expiry date.

I hope my post helps you girls too.

Clinique take the day off cleansing balm - Review

Dear Skin, I love you a lot and you know that very well. Hundreds of products have been bought, tried and tested on you so that I could take care of you well. My efforts to keep you beautiful and trouble free have gone down the drain, thanks to my poor eating and sleeping habits that leave me to highly depend on skincare products to cover up for the damage I am doing to it. Pity!

I love wearing makeup so much so that I would not even answer the doorbell without putting some lipstick on. (Now that’s an observation my hubby made ;)) Dress up and show up is what I believe in. so, wearing making can be so much fun but taking it off at the end of a tiring day can be cumbersome and too difficult a task. I wish I could take off all the makeup I am wearing only at a snap of my fingers but hey I have found a miracle product which is almost the same thing.

One day while I was hovering around the Clinique counter testing lipstick shades and swatching them on my hand I took the help of the SA to clean my lipstick marked hand and she introduced me to the Clinique’s take the day off cleansing balm. Oh my word! I was amazed how this balm worked like magic to remove every bit of makeup and dirt from my hand that was exposed to the cleansing balm. I jumped and grabbed the last tub lying in the shelf and end of story this is my Holy Grail makeup cleanser.

Product name: Clinique take the day off cleansing balm

Quantity: 125 ml

Price: Rs 2750

My Experience with the product:

This products comes in a huge plastic tub with a silver colour lid packaging. The tub is massive in size but not so heavy. It does not come in any additional box packaging. The product inside the tub looks like solidified butter and I scoop out the product using a small spatula. You don’t need a lot of product to cleanse. Next, on my dry face I just massage this cleanser and in no time it just melts into an oil like texture (nothing to be scared of) covering my entire face and breaking down the makeup effortlessly without tugging or excessive rubbing. Then I add a few drops of water to my face and the oil turns slightly creamy / milky in nature and then I wash it away with plain water. Voila, my skin has no residue of makeup left behind and my face looks brighter, cleaner and fresh. I don’t follow it with an additional step of using a face-wash unless I am wearing heavy makeup but if you are keen you may. Be sure to close your eyes tight when you are removing your eye makeup as it can make your eyes blurry for some time if it gets in or you could use a separate cleanser such as the Bioderma h2o micellar water for the eyes and use this for the rest of the face for me I am comfortable with this one alone. I feel it does such a fantastic job at removing makeup that I don’t feel spiritless at the thought of cleaning my makeup.

Final thoughts:

This product is Amazeballs! I highly recommend this product for all skin types as it did not break me out on my combination skin and it can remove stubborn waterproof makeup too so, all the hype around this product stands true. This is completely fragrance free and leaves no oily/ greasy residue after rinsing off. One tub will last you a good time may be about 4 to 5 months i.e. if you wear makeup every day. This cleansing balm is your best friend if you love wearing makeup like I do. Go grab one for yourself as this one gets sold out very quickly.

Thanks for reading!

Current skincare routine with mini reviews

Hello everyone,

Hope you all are doing wonderful and staying beautiful as always. Well, I have been away for a while from my blog as I was testing a few products out and wanted to write a thorough review about them. So, it’s about time I give my verdict on them. This post is more like a skincare routine post but also consider it as a mini review of each product as I list them one by one here. My skin is normal to combination (with an oily T-zone and rest of the face being normal to dry as per changing weather conditions).

I am going to be sharing all the products that I have incorporated in my day and evening routine and here are my thoughts.

Clarins Pearl-to-cream brightening cleanser:

This cleanser is part of their white plus range and it comes in a standard size tube of 125 ml. It is a foaming cleanser with a fragrance of plant extracts, and only a pea size amount is required to create immense lather. I have used this cleanser both for summer and winter months and I feel my skin could tolerate it only for the summers as this cleanser was very harsh on my skin in the winters as it ripped off my skins moisture levels making it dry to very dry and the feeling was not comforting at all. This cleanser does not do a good job at removing water proof make up so it is best advised to do a pre cleanse and follow it with this cleanser. This product gives you an illusion of a clearer and brighter skin but it all diminishes sooner than you can imagine. As for me I won’t be repurchasing this again. I want to switch to a milder cleanser and probably fragrance free.
Price: RS 1800
Quantity: 125 ml

Clarins white plus Total Luminescent Intensive brightening serum:

This is the first serum whatsoever I have ever used in my skin care routine. I bought it after hearing rave reviews about it. Sadly, it does not live up to its claims. I bought the 30 ml version of this and it also comes in a 50 ml variant. This serum is also from the white plus range and I was told by the clarins SA that this serum was their most effective and promising product so I took the plunge. After cleansing I would take 2 pumps of the serum and apply it with pressing motions as advised by clarins and it would leave my skin feeling instantly brighter, giving it a rosy glow with a semi-matte finish (sounds like a dream right? Yes it is a short lived dream :( ). However, it neither helped in reducing dark spots or age spots and neither had it helped in avoiding or treating newer age spots. I am highly disappointed and won’t be buying this again. BTW this 30ml lasted me a month and a half by using it twice a day.

Price: RS 4600
Quantity: 30 ml

Under eye cream:

Benefit IT'S Potent! eye cream:

I am using the benefit potent eye cream morning and evening after the serum. A full review of this product coming very soon.
Price: RS 2100
Quantity: 14.2 g

Day cream:
Estee Lauder Day wear SPF 15:

I have been using the Estee Lauder day wear plus moisturizer. I have reviewed this product earlier on my blog. So, I won’t be writing much about it here.
Price : RS 3600
Quantity:  50ml

Dark spot corrector:
Clarins White plus Total Luminescent All spots brightening corrector:

This cute little glass bottle comes with a metal top roller ball and this product is water like in consistency meant to lighten dark spots and I would use this after my moisturizer and dab it on the problem areas. I have used it for 2 months nearly and this has not helped or improved the visibility of the dark spots, age spots or blemishes. Again a huge disappointment. Will I repurchase it? Hell NO!

Make up remover:
BIODERMA sensibio H20 solution :

Bio derma sensibio is my go to makeup remover. It is mild, fragrance free, alcohol free and does not sting on my skin. It removes makeup very efficiently and it works for all skin types. This is by far my favourite makeup remover. Totally love it!

Night cream:

Clarins white plus brightening and whitening cream:

This night cream comes in a huge glass jar packaging, making it bulky and less travel friendly. The cream’s consistency is like a thick whipped cream but it’s quite moisturizing though. A very little amount is needed to cover up the entire face and it leaves you with softer skin that is well moisturized. However, I don’t wake up to a glowing and radiant skin, it’s just the normal sort, no wonders. Sadly, not my Holy Grail night cream.

Quantity: 50 ml

Lip care:

Burts Bees lip balm:

Need I say more? This is the best lip treatment any kind of lips could ask for. They will be healed and treated in no time. I simply love this product and I carry it in my makeup bag at all times.

I apologize that this post is more on the critical side but these opinions are my honest and I have arrived to this conclusion after using them myself, for a period of 2 months.

For who is this Clarins white plus range for?

I did not buy the white plus range for a fairer skin, my expectations from this range was clearly to have a brighter and an even toned skin. Well, I would say this range is for someone who does not have troubled skin, no age spots or dark spots and who does not desire for miraculous results that transforms from wheat to white. However, if I have to say one good thing about this range, that would be that they did not make my skin any worse or break me out so I would say go ahead and try it if you want to test it for yourself. While I still keep looking for products that are miraculous in nature. ;)

Thank you for reading.
